About Me

Before I became the Glen Gardener

My husband left me for another woman when my 5 kids were still small. Things weren’t great leading up to that, but they got a lot worse for me after. The next 20 years was a journey of discovery…a hard one. I gave up a lot that I should not have. For example keeping my children a priority, or selling the 20 acres with a home that I was able to keep after the divorce. Leaving an amazing community of believers where I could have been safe and healed. But I forfeited all of that and was just drug from one year to the next. Until I did a complete 180 with the Lord’s help, and got my life back on track!

Restoration

Since then it’s been such an adventure! I actually was able to buy back the 20 acre property. I now live here with my husband Jeff, my youngest son Daniel and our 2 dogs Sonny & Smith. Many things I loved have been restored back to me. Like being a homemaker, Gardening and homesteading, and most of all being a mother! That’s why we’re adopting!

Nurturing the Heart

Creating an environment where the senses are enlivened, the heart is healed and the ability to dream, believe, hope and love is restored is my passion! A place where our children can have a safe place to heal from their trauma and grow up into healthy and whole adults.

Nurturing the Soil

I garden using the permaculture method because it cares about the soil. Which in turn cares about the insects, the environment and people! Plus, I want to put the healthiest food into the bellies of my family. I believe that matters more than we know!

Mid Life Transition

If I could sum up why I started a blog and a YouTube channel, it would be because the of the status quo about life as a midlifer. Neither my husband or myself fit into that mold! We both still get up early and work hard every day in our jobs and we love it! We still invest large amounts of time building our home. Now our children and grandchildren have a place to land and find comfort when they need it. Family still seems to be what it’s all about for us. It feels a bit alternative and I want to document it. Hope it nurtures your heart and soil as you follow along!

So Glad You’re Here!

While most women my age are emptying their nests, mine continues to grow bigger and bigger!

I love children! I love home! I love the land and I’ve been given my most important assignment late in life ~ to grow hearts and food on my 20 acre homestead!
